Like I did with the master bath, I wanted to share an idea of the transformation of the first floor bathroom to date. Even though the primary bath in the house had received an update at some point in (I’m guessing) the late 80s – it was a sad little beige blah.
From being smack-dab in the center of the first floor, we moved the bathroom to the back of the house, near what was to become our new back entrance – and which will likely be a primary daily entrance and exit once we move in and begin parking in the garage.
Hello quick and easy potty run and “last potty outs” as my mom says.

I’ve been terribly neglectful with this blog, I know it. But here’s why – you’ve got to really see the progression reveal of before, during and after photos to appreciate the massive renovation of this master bathroom. When we first bought this house, there was only one, shared bathroom on the second floor. And it was pink. The whole thing was 70’s pink tile.
We gutted the entire house, including the heinously pink bathroom. After new framing, new plumbing, new insulation, new durock, new drywall, AND new tile, we’re in the home stretch. I’ll say we’re at 75%. We still need our fixtures, our vanities, and mirrors. That’s the icing.
Here’s the cake:

The bathrooms have started getting tiled and are looking great. Last week began with shower floor basins getting poured in the two baths with standing showers. Those got tiled first. Main floors came second, and then the master shower stall took precedence. It’s really coming along.
No photos yet though – I’m planning a dramatic slideshow reveal.
Stay tuned 🙂
